Four Field Kono is a medieval game of position which appears simple, but is actually quite challenging.
It is played on the sixteen points of a 3 x 3 square grid. Each player begins with 8 pieces on their side of the board. Capture is by replacement: a piece has to jump over one of it's own pieces and knock out the opposing piece on the next point.
When not capturing, pieces may move one space along any line. Player wins by capturing all opposing pieces or by blocking opponent so he cannot move.
Our board measures 12x12 inches (30.5 cm x 30.5 cm) and includes pieces (3" / 7.62cm high), rules, and a drawstring bag.
**Two-player game**
This game is not appropriate for any person who may put the playing pieces in their mouth, since they are a choking hazard. Please use common sense when purchasing gifts for others.
